MX Publishing Migration Service MVP
Goal: Establish a service that would efficiently and quickly migrate over 200 data consumers off of legacy systems onto a new and improved single source of truth
Hopeful Outcome: a timely and standardized process to migrate all data consumers from old legacy systems onto a new architecture with minimal hand-holding

Definitions
Publishing
scalable dispersion of item and product data across all of KTD from one single source of truth

Any product team, business stakeholder, or individual merchandiser who relies on item and product data to perform business objectives
Migration
Move to access and consume item and product data from one data source to another data source

Data Lake

Current Thoughts
Despite all of the different histories, processes, and needs that products have to acquire and consume item/product data, there will always be patterns. I have an opportunity to use this opportunity to not only learn what makes the current experiences successful but also learn what behaviors Publishing should encourage with the new source of truth. Additionally, I have the opportunity to grow enthusiasm for this migration to boost excitement over push-back by not only presenting the immense benefits of the new source of truth but also foster collaborative efforts to speed up this migration.
